Addis Ababa

At first glance Adelaide and eastern Africa might not seem so similar, but perhaps Port Road and Ethiopia aren’t that different after all: both are barren, desolate and home to Addis Ababa. If this humble cafe were situated in the city it would be Adelaide’s worst kept secret ‚ a bustling and hip hangout where your chances of getting a seat are slim to none, but it’s not. Instead, sandwiched as it is between car yards and offices, it’s a little known gem and hideaway for certain local MPs to talk curried politic.

Hot air rhetoric aside, Addis Ababa is exotic, exciting, communal and wallet friendly. And sure it might be unlicensed and look like an old butcher’s shop inside, but when was the last time you ate fragrant delicacies with your hands? I thought so.
