Pigs On Fire

Constructed like a teepee from timber logs and iron grates, this pop-up Dutch BBQ called Pigs On Fire sits tucked away in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, way up the back. No repurposed wooden pallets, or intentionally mismatched furniture here, this place is serious. Laden with pork legs, ribs and belly, this is a fiery tower of unashamedly carnivorous offerings. The meat roasts from early afternoon until it’s all sold out, and it is amazing. The menu is predominantly meat – plates with a bit of everything, sourdough rolls filled with sausage and sauerkraut, or roast and horseradish.

That said, there's carrots, cauliflower and spring onion sitting amongst all that meat, as well as their dill and parsley barley salad. So, if you aren't too squeamish, vegetarians are catered for also. But really, it's all about the meat. Gorgeous, greasy, delicious meat. You should brave the Garden just for an hour to get there, it’s totally worth it.
