Rosey’s
published on 19th October, 2011

Unley, you have a new neighbour. Sure, she might have moved into Serves You Right‘s old house, but things are a changin at 139 Unley Road (although the Unley dames and yummy mummies haven’t quite cottoned on yet. Give them time, though. Rosey’s is only a few days old). The wall of books is gone, opening up the front room into a bright and breezy space, and the back courtyard has a flourishing collection of succulents that are quite happy soaking up the midday sun.

Rosey is a sweetheart who knows what a good breakfast looks like (weekends only for the moment), and isn’t afraid to experiment a little with her sandwich offerings (lashings of dill with chorizo on pumpkin bread? YES PLEASE!) She sources her ingredients as organically and locally as possible – think Goodies And Grains muesli, B.-d. Farm dairy products and eggs from a friend’s Nonna!

It’s baby-steps at the moment as the cafe starts to build, but everything is pointing in very promising direction. Like the fresh flowers on every possible surface and artworks that dot the walls, not to mention the dinky little repurposed-jar light shades filled with lollies that look too good to be true. Rosey’s is coming along nicely, and is only going to get better when its liquor licence comes through and it ‘officially’ opens in the coming weeks. Evening drinks in the courtyard sound great to us – watch this space!
