Secret Circuit, ‘Cosmic Vapors’
published on 11th January, 2012

There is something perversely thrilling about listening to psychedelic electronic music on cassette tape. You’d think if you were going to put something that sounds like a cosmic harem dance on Orion’s Belt out into the world, you would at least be looking at using a CD-R for lack of the telepathic laser beam technology you would hope for. But then again, artist and musician Eddie Ruschan (aka Secret Circuit) is pushing 40 and well within his rights when combining eras for his retro-futuristic techno release Cosmic Vapors.

As part of a trilogy that also includes Cosmic Capers and, you guessed it, Cosmic Papers, this DJ Psych Mix rediscovers a long forgotten history in California that extends well beyond Mickey Mouse and the Walk of Fame, all through rhythm and repetition. Along with a whole bunch of other new age-y transcendentalists who must literally be bored out of their minds, Secret Circuit finds peace in hyper-colour t-shirts, getting stoned and mixing up his decades.
