She & Him, ‘Volume Two’
published on 13th March, 2010

Just about everyone agrees that She & Him, the unexpected project of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, is pretty great. It probably has something to do with the fact that Zooey has successfully charmed every single person in the world, but beyond her acting and dancing skills, this girl can totally sing.

She truly is the whole quirky indie dream girl package, minus that being married to Ben Gibbard thing. Or maybe that won’t bother you, homewrecker. But this is all not to discount M. Ward’s contributions, because he’s a new-folk giant and has been known play his guitar upside down and completely trashed better than you can play the bassline to ‘Smoke on the Water’ sober.

So there’s no surprise that after the success of Volume One, the duo has decided to go ahead and release the creatively titled Volume Two. With a similar warm, feel-goody vintage sound, the new album will make you defiantly hold on to the last days of this Southern Hemispheres summer and ward off Autumn any way possible.
