Art West

Art West is a sort of walking tour of some of the more iconic venues and shops on the west side of town. Business owners all around Hindley and Gouger Streets have allowed some of Adelaide’s best emerging artists to exhibit in shop windows and the like. It’s a nice idea – attracting attention to a new generation of local artists as well as the fact that Adelaide can boast as many classy bookstores and cafes as any other city, the only difference being that they happen to be a convenient stumbling distance from one another. And closed after dark. And on Sundays.

Ahem.

Brigid Noone (FELTspace, Format Festival, et cetera) hand picked most of the artists, so you know it’s worth investigating. The highlight for me will be Gary Seaman’s Golden Silver exhibition at Magazine. Come meet Gary and a bunch of the other bright young artists at Worldsend and check out their work throughout the duration of Art West. WESSIIIIDE YO!
