Enjoy Tasty Treats

If you’ve ever done a bit of screen-printing, you’d know the feeling of satisfaction when you peel back the screen to reveal a beautifully clean print. Tristan Kerr – the man behind Artifact Studios – knows how to get an oh-so-perfect sharp line of ink on a white tee. In the same way Vivienne Westwood heels are worshipped, screen-printing is all a bit fetishist – and with good reason.

‘Enjoy Tasty Treats’ is a screen-printing addict’s wet dream. A collection of limited edition, locally designed tees, all hand printed by Kerr himself. The usual suspects (Adelaide’s most exemplary illustrators) are featured – Stuckey, Nickas, Gary Seaman. Swiss screen-printing group Lowrider are special guest designers and as such are likely to be snapped up quickly by those clever enough to save on postage. This is also a rare opportunity to get your paws on some of Owen Lindsay’s idiosyncratic drawing style.

Gallery director Josh Fanning has a keen interest in good design and as a result Magazine Gallery’s program is likely to feature a range of high quality shows bridging the gap between illustration and art. Continuing to support the best local illustrators by encouraging punters to put their money where their mouths are, this is yet another example of Fanning supporting ethical purchasing. Why wouldn’t you have a fetish for that?
