Throughout the years, themes such as death, decay, horror and destruction have been explored by many. In this age of vampires, werewolves and zombies ruling at the box office, some might say they’re being explored by too many. Regardless of the quality of gore we’re being dished out at times, the fatal attraction between Eros and Thanatos can’t be ignored. Poked a stick at, at times, sure. But ignored? No. The third incarnate of its kind, ‘Lets Eat The Dead 3′ explores this attraction in a non vampire fantasy teenage romance kind of way.
‘Lets Eat the Dead 3′ is an exhibition featuring a handful of selected Adelaide artists, displaying mixed media artworks which explore all that oscillates between horror, luxury and decay, life and death, stylised violence and sartorial cool. You’ll find no kitsch, hand embroidered, wooden framed badges. You’ll find no vintage portraits or owls at this exhibition. There is going to be nothing here that’s ‘super cute’. This one’s for you all you freaks and oddballs to indulge your morbidity. There’ll be more than just the art, too, funk-punk morticians God God Dammit Dammit will play.
