I’ve got good memories of going to gigs in other big cities overseas and having flyers consistently foisted into my face while walking out the venue door. I say foist, because at the time it’s a little ‘woah, back off, man. I’m just trying to live my life’, but then you look at it and irrespective of whether you actually make it to the show, and despite the relief that it isn’t some kind of evangelical Christian pamphlet saying “all you fags are goin ta heell”, the art and design is sometimes really, really good. A nice flyer is real nice. Someone – a person in the band, a friend – spent a lot of, or barely any, time making it and that same person probably made the band a nice poster. GET HURT isn’t about flyers (we need more flyer foisting, people!) but rather poster and video art from our own scene featuring Harry Freeman of Doe, Dan Heath of Mondo Phase and Lise van Konkelenberg of Lise van Konkelenberg (sorry I don’t know if you’re in a band, Lise).
