If you ever get the opportunity to see Hisham Bharoocha‘s mindblowingly excellent 20-drumkit ‘symphony’ IIII, do it. Bharoocha (Soft Circle, Black Dice and interestingly, an early member of Lightening Bolt) is a mindblowingly excellent drummer himself, but if you can imagine him multiplied by 20 with a couple of droning, bass-laden synths thrown in… well, you get the picture. Mind = blown! This event at the Exeter isn’t going to be anywhere near the scale of IIII, but it is comprised of four of Adelaide’s finest drummers – lads from Sparkspitter, Doe, Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity and Blast Rhombus – banging away to their heart’s content.
