If you feel like sleepmakeswaves and their debut album …and so we destroyed everything sounds like a homage to Explosions In The Sky, you’d be right! OK, so they’re not actually Explosions In The Sky, but they do that same style of epic instrumental post rock, and y’know what? They do it pretty well! sleepmakeswaves err on the side of ‘heavier’, but that’s not to say they are a heavy band; moments of lightness and delicacy creep into their tracks, but for the most part its all soaring drums and thrashing riffs that together create a morose sonic beauty.
