I hate Masterchef
published on 25th June, 2010

Sometimes the simple things in life are often the best. Here is a guy who hates Masterchef. He’s not an angry rejected would-be contestant, he’s not at war with food (see colour photo of his spaghetti cake) and he even watched the original British Masterchef series. But you know what? Masterchef has changed, man. The series itself. It used to be about the food. Not replicating childhood favourite meals only to have the contestants scrutinised for their actual childhoods and/or memories and/or failing to recreate such a meal under pressure.

It was never about the the hysterical countdown before plating. It was never about the sob stories, the product endorsements, the celebrity chefs and the pimping. The pimping, people! And Thomas is a humanitarian. He’s concerned. He’s concerned about the individuals. He’s concerned about the industry. He’s concerned about society. He hates Masterchef. But it’s intelligent, critical hate. Not random world cup hate. Thomas is taking a stand. An unpopular anti-reality tv stand. Who’s with him?
