NATURE

"Nature" is sort of like the opposite of the internet. In small doses, it can be a pleasant way to pass the time while you’re waiting for stuff to download. Also, studies have shown that regular exposure to nature can result in lower rates of depression, heart disease and obesity.

Some nature bits in the Adelaide metro area:

Morialta Conservation Park
That yuppie street in Norwood where you bought that pasta maker that you never use? Follow it all the way into the hills, turn left, and you wind up here. During the rainier months the waterfall looks just like a bought one! Remember to bring shoes, and maybe a sandwich. There’s also a pub near Norton Summit.

Linear Park
Basically a track that runs along the Torrens River to the sea. Ride your bike along it, and thank me on your wedding day.

Botanic Gardens
Did you know that the Botanic Gardens are actually open during the day? I only know because I went there one afternoon to retrieve a crack pipe, and the gates were wide open! It was actually sort of nice!

Belair
There’s a proper national park, but the whole place is nice IMHO. Old Belair Road is awesome if you’re into breath-taking views / death-defying speed / pain. Just keep rolling up Unley Road until shit starts to get pretty. Say yo to the Fresh Prince from me!
