We didn’t appreciate geometry the first time around at school. Take us back, geometry. We’ve changed. Spanish designer Verónica de Arriba must be mad for triangles. Her label’s latest jewellery collection, Geometry is Fun, is all about clean lines, basic shapes and cool, white ceramic.
Each pendant features a typical Depeapa painted illustration, with enough colour and quirk to make it clear that you haven’t just found a bathroom tile shard and strung it around your neck. Either way, no judgement. These ice-cold necklaces aren’t statement pieces. They’re subtler than that and work best coordinated with an outfit. They’re not the loud-mouthed main character, they’re the likeable best friend.
You’ll find the little white necklaces in triangles, circles and hexagons, or there are oval brooches to match. Layer them up for a bunting vibe, or stack as many on your neck as you can to resemble that kid in grade one who never learned how to tessellate. Or even put two triangles in your mouth and pretend they’re vampire fangs. Geometry really is fun.
