This Timothy L character is a bit of a nomad. We can’t even find him on the internets! It’s like trying to Google John Citizen. He seems like the kind of street-smart guy that got his book-smarts from people like Raoul Vaneigem or Jack Kerouac circa On The Road, or this Werner Herzog spoken word.
Being such a vagabond has allowed him to collect all the information all of us stuck behind desks haven’t been able to collect. L’s (yes, we don’t even know his surname) exhibition, Trespassers Welcome navigates its way through disused spaces, urban environments, highlights objects which we thought were just part of the everyday. In other words, he focusses on the unseen. His first exhibition was opened by Howard Arkley, and he has since painted schools in Cambodia and squats in Barcelona.
L works across mediums from photography to video, painting and illustration and his thirst for knowledge mixed with a genuine curiosity about the world make L’s work hit the heart. Set in the Judy, trespass on this space when nobody’s looking – you’re sure to find something you never knew was there. Dark Days are over.
