As high school kids our teachers would not allow us out onto the oval field unless we wore super-daggy school hats. But thanks to Village Markets I can now dash across pastures with the hat of my choice - neon colours and all.
This outdoor bazaar showcases emerging fashion designers and it's a popular place for locals to hunt down vintage hats, threads, jewels, home wares and hand-crafted ornaments. Plus there's designer bargains for the 'Carries' in us too. Check out the Sass & Bide denim dress I scored for guess how much. Jam your car-trunk with Aussie brands Milk & Honey, Dot Wears a Dress and Debris Blanc, plus yesteryear clothes from Red Vintage and Morning Child.
For eats, the Burleigh Primary School teachers do a fierce sausage sizzle (just make sure you're wearing a hat when you order). Plus there's a Zarrafas' van parked out front to give you that extra thrift-hound zing!
