Chester’s Boutique Hotel

At Chester’s, privacy and subtlety are key – in fact this once inner-city family home-cum-hotel does away with swipe cards and gives their guests an actual key to their rooms. The project of a savvy property developer and his wife, Chester’s really is a family-run business: their barista daughter serves coffee in the garage café next door to a loyal local following in addition to filling the orders of Chester’s guests at breakfast. All included in the price of your stay.

A ten-room open plan loft style building, Chester’s caters for in-house guests only – so quiet it almost feels as though you’re the only guests at the inn. With a refined attention to detail from the Helmut Newton coffee table book to the complimentary Jocelyn’s Provisions biscotti and the double function showerhead – yes the showerhead is worth mentioning – if you stay here, be sure to allocate extra shower time for a serious scalp massage.

All-in-all Chester’s is impeccable and while they maintain they are a 4.5 star rating, the cloud-like king bed, the gourmet continental breakfast and the rooftop bar with city views suggests 5 star all the way.
