Rocklea Flower Markets

We're pretty sure that to work at a flower market you've got to be a little bit crazy. All that pollen flying around all day is bound to add some delirium to your hay fever (hi, Charles Baudelaire). We were looking for Peonies that didn't cost an arm and a leg (take note, flower marketeers: the roots of peonies have been used to cure convulsions) when our synapses magically aligned with commonsense and bought forth the Rocklea Flower Markets.

Whether you're a hopeless romantic, an appreciator of nature's aesthetics, or a descendent of Joseph motherfucking Banks, you're bound to need flowers at some point. Unless you're adept at garden theft, in which case you should just feel bad for ruining an old lady's day.

Rocklea Flower Market is the source for flowers. They've got some stalwarts sellers who sell flowers that are sourced from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Toowoomba, Redlands and even as far up as Cairns, along with a few temporary stalls across the road at the produce market on a Saturday. We recommend this. The flora is usually seasonal so expect lots of bulb flowers in winter, not so many daisies. They also sell some fakes, for those unable to maintain. The flowers are stored in huge coldrooms (suitable for a rural horror flick) and the flowers are cheaper than your average inner city florist (sorry florists).
