1 Million Stars workshop at NORTHCITY4

Maryann Talia Pau, Pacific Island weaver extraordinaire, is on a mission. For her project 1 Million Stars to End Violence she wants to collect 1 million woven stars (!) as “a symbol of light and hope” for a future exhibition. She's holding a free workshop at NORTHCITY4 this Thursday. Drop in any time between 10am and 2.30pm to learn how to weave these cute eight-point stars. Bring your own scissors, snacks and gift wrap ribbon (buy for approx $2.50 at craft shop or 2-dollar shop). Maryann has also made a great 10-minute video tutorial (as well as a written instructional guide) so that you can learn to make the stars from home. Just remember to drop them off at Maryann's studio - 503 Sydney Road, Brunswick, VIC 3056 - to contribute to the project.
