Precious Geometries by Deirdre

It could just be me, but is there an over-abundance of jewellery makers in Melbourne at the moment? This is completely unresearched, but I blame RMIT. You can’t turn around without tripping over a budding design student spruiking their ornaments, and it’s led to a lot of unwearable crap clogging up our sartorial emporiums.

Thankfully Melbourne also has the antidote, like the Precious Geometries range from Deirdre. Just click that link and drool over the subtle hues of the hand-crafted porcelain. Those in the know will also instantly recognise her signature silver necklace.

I was at a party the other week and commented to a friend on one adorning the DJ. "Oh, that’s by this girl Deirdre," she said in a tone indicating some serious insider information. "Aren’t they beautiful? You can’t find them anywhere though." Well now you can. Martin Fella Vintage will tonight become the first of what we hope will be many stockists of Deirdre’s wares. Stop in and have a drink to celebrate.

PS. Word is, the range is being extending into men’s accessories. I would suggest the porcelain pyramids would make fantastic cuff link and tie-pin sets. I’m just saying.
