What, ultimately, does “I’ll be selling clothes, records, lots of books, furniture, kitchenware, a bicycle, accessories and cupcakes” tell you that “I’m having a garage sale” doesn’t? Close to nothing. It is the quality, the substance, of the items we are concerned with. If I were to inform you instead that the person conducting the sale was a video artist, a producer of Fringe shows and someone who can make a clothes sale sound straight up epiphanic then, well, then you might just think about getting up early on Sunday.
