Choosing a specialty trivia topic? You could do a lot worse than arm wrestling in ’80s exploitation cinema. Watch Over the Top a couple of times, maybe look up that one scene in Predator on the internet and you’re done. You’d have to come and see Hands of Steel (Vendetta dal Futuro) as well. Made during the twilight of Italy’s prolific, prodigic jag of B movie production (see Gialli, Spaghetti Westerns) it’s part of that weird stratum of movies not bad enough to be labled ‘cult’ nor good enough to be, well, good. The first screening in Cinecult’s series of movies available only on VHS. Expect cyborg assassins, lasers, violence and terrible dubbing. – KD
