Dancetaria’s stock in trade has always been the cheap drinks ($4 vodka, $3 Tecate, $3 sparkling ’til eleven). No shame in it. This time, however, the bargain basement booze has been upstaged. This iteration of the wettest fruit festival in town has persuaded (most likely by questionable means) Kool Thing to spin a couple of records between their gigs with Austra. A couple of Berlin-based ladies who have let the Teutonic preoccupation with spooky synth wear off but kept a bit of pop razzmatazz in the musical hopper. Check the sapphic fantastic clip for ‘Light Games‘ off of their new EP. If Mamet was a faggot this’d wouldn’t be a two-hander. Rounding out the drunken ensemble: Towering Moose, Whiskey Houston, Rosefacekillah and Leather Locklear. The organisers are also mysteriously foreshadowing “an amaze live show that involves something saxy.” No typo. I think I just got a hard on. No typo.
