What’s a thirty-year-old literary journal to do when print media is dying? Go down swinging of course. Going Down Swinging is relaunching itself as a digital magazine. It promises to have new whizbang video features, interactive text and animation. All of this means nothing, of course, if the content is rubbish. Thankfully the new edition has some work with promisingly dreamy titles such as ‘Every Girl’s Guide to Caring to her Winged Horse’. The launch will have free baked goods and a performance from Sean M. Whelan and the Interim Lovers. So if you like eating cupcakes and listening to epic spoken word performances / Dirty Three type music, get on down. – SW
