Jon Tarry, ‘Arrival and Departure’ exhibition opening

Jon Tarry sure is preoccupied with runways. Their variation, the way they “suggest a linguistic imprint on the earth’s surface”. As if they were a kind of language, a modern-day equivalent of the Nazca Lines. Jon’s work is right in Pin-Up’s wheelhouse, situated somewhere between art and architecture – examining the paradoxes of construction and destruction, of arrival and departure. The exhibition is made up of “a ten-metre extruded drawing, a ‘cargo’ sculpture, serial wall constructions, time relayed film and an engagement with nano luminescence.”
