RMIT solar sound system

Used to be that the only thing that ran on the sun’s power was Superman. But with the realisation that we have been systematically ruining the planet we occupy suddenly Ol’ Shiney seems a pretty viable source of power, and not just for houses and cars. A bunch of nerds (in the complimentary sense) at RMIT decided that even live music could be an environmentally sustainable enterprise and developed the unfortunately capitalised ‘geRMInaTe’ system (geddit?). They’ll be showing it off by running a gig with The Evening Birds and The Hazelman Brothers solely on solar rays as part of the Class Acts series. Pretty impressive, until you realise that our parliamentary system has been running entirely on bullshit since 1901. Thankyou ladies and gentlemen! – KD
