Saturday Night at the Drive-In, ‘Love the Beast’

Outdoor cinema is a good idea but, let’s be honest, it is a good idea mostly in theory. The novelty eventually wears off. This hypothesis of mine is debunked by the people of Dromana. Their outdoor cinema, the Dromana Drive-in, has been in operation for almost 50 years now. Have a look at this. Even their website was made 50 years ago. Every year Dromana Drive-in host a charity screening and this year the film of choice is Love the Beast. To complement the film, the people of Dromana have pulled out some old tricks to honour the occasion: rock ‘n’ roll bands, a dance floor, trade stalls, raffles, fancy dress competitions and FIREWORKS. But the real sinker is of course Shel’s Diner where you can enjoy “a full range of hot and cold food and drinks, cappuccino, and our famous spit roast”.
