Carl Scrase, the creator and driving force behind the Social Engineering Research Initiative (S.E.R.I.) wants to ask people, “Is our empathy on the rise?”. I don’t have any answer as I can’t discern his motivations or feelings about the project. Good stuff. Anyway, Carl wants you to paste up posters around your environment with the question printed on them, gather responses in the manner of a wildling foraging for wild berries or nuts, take a photo and send it to him. The project is launching at Meyers Place and is part of a broader project by S.E.R.I. to create a more empathic world. You know what else is on the rise? My boner for Beuysian ‘social sculpture’. Thanks Carl, thanks S.E.R.I.
