Lenko Flinders Lane
published on 10th June, 2009

While the shop has been open for four years, the Melbourne Central Lenko boutique has always seemed a little out of place. Its location in a giant shopping centre never quite fit the attitude of the treasures inside and climbing the escalators to buy a new sweatshirt never felt more like a trip to year 9 than during school holidays. As if to appease the bitter, cranky, and adolescent-phobia afflicted, Dana from Lenko has opened a new shop in the city.

Dana and company have completely overhauled the space in Cathedral Arcade where Genki used to reside, with new paint, new designs, and new floors. The walls have three murals already in place, and Dana insists that there are more to come as well as a monthly art installation window out front with Raff Banks taking charge first. Without missing a beat, the new shop is still stocking designs from Australia and elsewhere including Limedrop, Chip Chop, I Heard They Eat Cigarettes, Formally Known As, and Tai Snaith. Maximum shopping potential with minimal acne and braces.
