Tips and Toes
published on 3rd October, 2011

I’m sure you’ve noticed the pink and yellow signage on Brunswick Street before. Tips and Toes looks particularly intriguing in the evening when the sign lights up and you can sneak a peek of the interior.

Perhaps you’ve never contemplated a manicure or a wax, or even considered you may just be in need of a pedicure. The time has come to think again. Stepping inside Tips and Toes is pretty much like stepping into the Barbie dream house so treasured when there was only one digit a girl could claim for an age. I wouldn’t be surprised if Aqua’s fame was a direct result of this very space. Plastic tables in pale hues of pink and green, nail polish colours for Africa and the option of round or square-shaped tips, obviously. Other highlights include the mini fan nail dryer and the very official drying machines, which look like some form of mystery hard rubbish.

Tips and Toes offers numerous nail services including gel polish (which doesn’t come off if you tinker in the hospitality industry), waxing services and eyebrow and eyelash tints. Getting a manicure will make you feel embarrassed that you’ve been carrying around excess cuticle all this time. However this new look will no doubt bring a smile to your face every time you lay a hand down on purpose in front of other not so handsomely handed friends.
