In days gone by, it was the battle of the Whopper versus the Big Mac. But life isn’t so simple anymore. Now peeps want to know if their patty is made from locally farmed beef that was tucked up with a blankie on cold nights, or if their vegetables are organic and were lovingly hand picked, or maybe we shouldn’t be cooking anything at all. The burgers themselves have also become super fancy, with chefs and wannabe chefs trying to tizzy up the humble meat patty any way they can to stay in the game.
The folks at Northbridge’s Kung Fu Kitchen, however, have laughed in the face of this pretension and are serving up the simplest and best burgers in town. Fact. For $4 you get a choice of pork or beef, some homemade bread and a delicious mix of spring onions and garlic with spicy sauce – a (strongly endorsed) optional extra. We can’t tell you if the piglet was read a story before bed, but when the end result is so porkfect, we don’t really care.
