I could never understand the appeal of Teri Hatcher. Even when she was smooth and young, and being flung about the tops of skyscrapers by Dean Cain, working away at her newspaper articles, non-cognisant of her proximity to her dreamboat superhero, there was still something not quite right about her, that nobody else seemed aware of.
Well, this time I’m not the only one who thinks something’s awry, at our own version of the Daily Planet. As a much-anticipated appendix to the beloved Planet Video and Planet Books, there’s a lot of people who would have settled for a half-decent coffee and a few upturned crates. But so far it’s all bad news for the Daily! I’m sure there’s a few people there working hard to make things right – I had a couple of pretty great coffees, and an OK omelette. But the general vibe is that some kind of vision is missing: someone around who really cares about it, like at some of the other Perth establishments taking themselves seriously and coming up with the goods. Proximity to late-night books and DVDs definitely has its upside though, so you could always hit the Daily up for a take-away coffee with the TV series of your choice.
