The Food Store
published on 10th February, 2010

Seeking out West End Cake Shop one day on SixThousand’s advice, I spied The Food Store across the street and ventured inside for a simple coffee. Taken aback by a display case filled with appetising savoury treats, all prepared within the open kitchen behind the counter, I decided upon lunch (even though it was 10.45am). The salmon, spinach and egg kosher bagel was fantastic, as was the gigantic strawberry and white chocolate muffin that followed.

With gluten-and-wheat free options, the menu changes daily, so nothing ever becomes stale. With the attentive wait staff and a manager that knows all the regulars by name (go on, give her a pop quiz!) I felt like becoming a regular myself. Now all we need is someone to seek out The Food Store and stumble upon another place to review for SixThousand, so the circle can continue.
