Lavandula Hair & Scalp Treatment
Thursday January 24, 2013·
I interviewed a 75-year-old woman the other day and it was a very different experience to interviewing someone younger. The whole time she was trying to interview me! June works in the distillery of a lavender farm and has done so for 16 years after a career as a nurse. The other day I used the Hair & Scalp Treatment that she distils at Lavandula and I got to tell you, my hair hasn't felt this way since I was a toddler.
Into her hair treatment June mixes portions of sweet almond oil, Cedar wood, lavender, thyme, sage and ylang ylang. The bottle instructs you to massage the ointment into your hair and scalp and leave it for at least an hour, but June even advises letting your hair soak up the goodness overnight. Wash your hair with shampoo in the morning and repeat the process in a couple of days. Eventually your hair will be so strong and healthy you'll only need to do this once a week.
June only washes her hair once a week, though if she is going to church or somewhere else special she says she will wash it again. “You shouldn't be washing your hair every day you fool! You are taking away the beautiful nourishment God gave you,” she says. “If it doesn't move, grow feathers or you can't pull it from the ground, keep away from it,” were some additional words of good advice.
