Debut

During high school, the major art project I submitted to the Year 12 Perspectives were dodgy noir illustrations inspired by the comic book Sin City. Not my proudest moment, I’ll admit. But hey, cracking the art world is a tough gig! Even with the internet allowing any teen to upload their dodgy noir sketches, it’s difficult to be noticed amongst all the Robert Pattinson charcoals.

Thankfully some bright young things are taking the initiative with Debut, a group exhibition of seven artists between 16 and 18 tackling various mediums. Amongst them include the Buffalo Parade‘s introspective photos, Cheeks‘ warped street art , and Yashi Renoir‘s music-inspired paintings .

A new art zine, untitled (YOUTH), will also be launched, so you can take home these youngins’ in paper form. Rest assured, the future of art is in good hands, and will likely not feature anything inspired by 300 (seriously, kids: Frank Miller sucks).
