A Private Life: Justice Michael Kirby

Justice Michael Kirby is an unlikely hero. The former High Court judge is one of Australia’s unfortunately rare public intellectuals, and the patron saint of Australian law students: a kind of legal Gandalf who does stuff like argue with the rest of the High Court over pretty much everything and rap poetry by W B Yeats. Kirby is required reading for any Australian who’s into the social justice gig. Or put down the books and see him live! Kirby is relating memoirs on his life, sexuality and legal career for the Perth Festival. It will make you a better person, trust us.
