At some point we all come to grips with the idea that animation is something adults can enjoy too. Japanese animator Miyazaki convinced me. Maybe you got into it via Adult Swim, or South Park. And how about that Fantastic Mr Fox, eh? Animator’s Hour is one hour every Thursday where work from Perth’s best local animators, as well as inspiring animation from around the world, will be played for free on the Northbridge Piazza screen. Creatives are also invited to submit to a final project (details here) with Wacom tablets, books and cash up for grabs. Just don’t make the mistake of calling animation a ‘genre’ within earshot of any pros!
