Scraps
published on 8th September, 2010

There’s something interesting about scraps. Not scraps as in when two Chavs fight, but scraps as in the detritus of everyday life, objects left behind and lost in time like refugees from the past. But there’s some people doing their darndest to ensure scraps are not forgotten: there’s a whole magazine dedicated to scraps of paper, this slightly obsessive-compulsive tribute to scrap metal, the creepy past time of scrapbooking and now, Scraps the store.

When La La Orange shut down bright sparks Ash and Courtney thought "we can salvage this" and wasted no time in getting a new venture underway. As you might guess from the name, Scraps offers choice bits-and-pieces picked from round the world. Guys can find threads from ABC Cuz out of NZ, gals can eye and buy some sweet rags from LIFEwithBIRD from over east and anyone can take home a psychedelic print from those crazy San Frans The Imaginary Foundation. Scraps may be a fair way down William St but the trek is worth it – anything this good won’t get left overlooked for long.
