The Annex
published on 23rd November, 2011

I confess I get a bit of a rush every time a cool new establishment opens in my hood, though when I drove past The Annex the rush was mostly due to the near miss with the car behind me when I lurched suddenly to take a better look at this little gem of a store.

The Annex may be named after the downtown Toronto suburb where owner Carla found her inspiration for the store, but don’t expect no moose heads, maple bacon or ice hockey paraphernalia on the walls here. Inside all you’ll find is a library corner (to distract the lads I’m guessing), interesting art, really friendly service (like freshly-brewed-espressos-while-you-sift-through-the-racks friendly) and international and Aussie designer brands such as Magdalena Velevska, NYC Denim, Uscari and Winter Kate filling said racks. This is one annex that ain’t gonna stay secret for long.
