Badminton Bandit & Coastal Shelf at Galleria
published on 4th January, 2012

People talk about ‘salad days’ – innocent, halcyon times since past. Perhaps you remember those not-so-distant salad days of Jane Harris‘ softly sung serenades at backyard shows, of Meupe co-founder Traianos Pakioufakis and his third-eye-opening mixes; of Craig McElhinney and his celestial reveries, or of DIY print media outlet Coastal Shelf at its former Pier St home.

Perhaps they call them ‘salad days’ because, like a fresh salad, they can never last. Time has brought about a diaspora: these musicians, artists and general innovators have relocated to new lands, and projects, leases and initiatives have run their course. You can put the tissues away, though, because the salad days are back! At least for a night – in the new setting of East Perth Galleria, where Coastal Shelf is braced to reopen. The ‘salad’ bit becomes literal with the return of Badminton Bandit‘s legendary veggie treats. If salad is not your thing, don’t fret – there will be plenty of rabbit and mystery meats among the smorgasboard, too.
