Laneway Recovery Party feat. Vincent Moon, Washed Out (DJ), Total Control (DJ)
published on 10th February, 2012

Fancy moping around the house the day after Laneway Festival with a cracking hangover and no one to whinge about it to? Us neither. Why is why we’re heading to an awesome Laneway Recovery Party at Fringe World’s The Treasure Chest, where we is gonna drank the chilly beers, while Washed Out and Total Control play DJ sets. We’re also going to let a good looking French film director called Vincent Moon stroke our hair (and play us some of his totes amazing short films).

Vincent Moon is bloody cool and has a cult following of fans, mostly thanks to his Take-Away Shows (Les Concerts à Emporter, for you Frenchies out there) – fast, single take films of musicians like Bon Iver, Yeasayer, Stephen Malkmus, Okkervil River, Dirty Projectors – check the rest of the 120-strong list here. He’s also made films with The Arcade Fire and The National. One of our fave Vincent Moon films is the one where he filmed Beirut performing each song of The Flying Club Cup in different locations around Brooklyn, New York and Paris. SWOON.

Moon will be at the party in the flesh to introduce his films, he’s also going to DJ some songs, and answer our questions (is that a real moustache?). It’s $10 to see him and his films! Get there early because Washed Out has a plane to catch and is playing at sunset (6.15pm!). Hangovers welcome.
