Northbridge street art walking tour

Perth’s creative hub and disco ghetto, Northbridge, has become a living gallery of murals. Start your walking tour in the Perth Cultural Centre, kicking up past Central Tafe and along Beaufort until you hit The Ellington, then turn left down Little Parry Street. Cross Lindsey and bam – there’s a massive mural featuring Daek and co. Carry on and you’ll hit Last Chance Studios‘ mural behind the kung-fu school.

Back on William, walk up to the Mosque (where the old Kid Zoom work was) to check out work from Daek, Ayre, Berst and Peks. There’s some sick work down a Robinson Street laneway, and a Stormie giant on Fitzgerald (if you’ve come from Stuart Street). Swing back towards the city onto Roe to marvel at The Old Berlin – Jodee Knowles, Creepy, Trevor6025 and more. Cut through Nick’s Lane (Chinatown) to scope some new school works by Keiron Broadhurst. Finish via the Wilson carpark adjacent, where you can scope Bridge, Sean Morris and Timothy Rollin behind The Bird, before hitting Ezra Pound’s epic alleyway, dog-legging up William, then James, to sidle along Lock Lane where you will find what is allegedly the last remaining work by The Yok in the area.

Comfortable kicks and a decent camera are a must. Of course, watch lamp-posts and meter-boxes for an assortment of stickers, paste-ups and mosaics. Best part? New stuff happens all the time, so repeat often for maximum fitness, cultural savvy and street know-how.
