The Beaufort Street Festival 2012

· Wednesday November 14, 2012

You don't have to live in Mount Lawley to go to this (but you should consider moving there, in the name of 'great life decisions'). Beaufort Street Festival is a wholesome, community event (though things tend to get edgier later in the day once the small people have gone to bed) with bands, art, food…you know the deal.

BSF are shutting down the street and building new stages right down the middle of it, where you can see a bunch of great bands for free in a kind of 'faux block-party' sitch. Will Stoker, Sonpsilo Circus and more at the Grosvenor Road stage. The Bouncy Orange Stage has a lame name but a sick line up, highlights include Bastian’s Happy Flight and Lilt. Cow Parade Cow and The Chemist are bands for the ages (the all ages), while the Elington Jazz Club-curated James Squire Bar dishes out sophistication a-plenty, courtesy of talented ladies Meg Mac, Odette Mercy and Natalie Gillespie.

What else? Skateboarding demos and a Perth skate history photography exhibition, Etching press workshops, interactive reality demos, poetry readings, a mini-wine festival, FOOD, trendy faaashuuuun parades, and about a thousand stalls. Also, if you think you know pizza, Crust are having a showdown to find the ultimate pizza maker!

Grab a beer and soak up the Vitamin D.
