Party sparklers lead a pretty insular life in that they really only appear on birthday cakes and on top of the harbor bridge on NYE. Banned from most outdoor events (along with other criminal things like having fun) the supermarket variety sparkler is often confined to sharing a life with the likes of incense.
Apparently in Thailand though this isn’t the case. Here food is celebrated (as it should be) and often served with a party sparkler on top. Meet ‘Sparkle Salmon’ just one of many traditional, and some not so traditional dishes served at Doy Tao Thai and appropriately marked on the menu by a smiley face. Kid friendly, but who’s to judge?
**Busy and bustling every night of the week, this rustic restaurant offers it all in the way of wide wooden tables, quick service, cheap eats and salvation from over-serious menus.
