Have you always wanted to dine in a replica of an underwater cave? Duh – who hasn’t!
Opened in 1955, Grotta Capri’s kitsch-tastic interior is modelled on the Italian island of Capri’s famed Blue Grotto. That means: lots of groovy blue lighting, elaborate seashells, stalactites, fish tanks, ocean floor tiling – need I say more?**This Sydney institution has been featured in heaps of films and TV shows (most notably Muriel’s Wedding and Underbelly). Its refreshingly unpretentious, and a fun night out. And the food? Well… it’s decent, but not really fantastic. And the prices could come down a notch. But that’s not the point, really.
Featuring karaoke and DJs on Friday, live music on Saturday, as well as being available for private functions, this is possibly the most fun you’ll ever have in Kensington. Prego!
