There’s another, unassuming, "Harry’s" in town that’s (ahem) clawing for your attention. From the moment you’re greeted by the neon-lit ‘live seafood’ sign, you know there’s no turning back. It’s everything the name promises… and more.
Owner, Harry Lau, has fisherman friends in high places delivering his famous Queensland mud crabs direct. These tasty crustaceans are not just served up Singapore Chili-style – there’s barbecue crab, Malay Sambal crab and Cantonese black bean crab.**If you’re not crab-crazy, don’t scuttle sideways in despair. There are plenty of other options. We recommend the Peking duck, Char Kuay Teow (flat rice noodles) and pepper and salt calamari. Wash it all down with jasmine tea, or better still, choose from the selection of Asian-ified cocktails. We recommend the Japanese Slipper or Singapore Sling.
Bibs are free with most dishes. And keep an eye out for local celebs. I’ve seen The Veronicas there.
