A while ago Baileys was mainly sipped by sleeping grandpas. Cue entrance of an ‘inter-sexual merman with female genitalia’and suddenly the creamy beverage has traded in grandpap to become the drink of choice for a bunch of insecure, post-pubescent smokers. Regardless, Baileys is still the best thing for the coming winter months. Better still, it’s really easy to make at home and for only $42 you can make 3.75 litres (or 125 shots to smash in your morning coffee).
In a large bowl, beat two eggs and add a tin of condensed milk, a tub of thickened cream, three dessert spoons of Cottees Chocolate Topping and one teaspoon of coconut essence. Baileys usually contains one cup of Irish Whisky, but if you’re a little skint you can substitute it with some nasty scotch. Once bottled, leave the liquid gold in a cool, dark place (like an underwater cave) for two weeks. Enjoy with friends, or in your favourite armchair.
