Kura

Some so called ‘Japanese’ eating establishments would have you believe that a typical Tokyo salary man sits down at a long, sleek, communal wooden table and has plates of delicate sushi brought to him with a glass of Semillon by well trained and manicured floor staff. Pish posh! That’s the Eastern suburbs, not East Asia. Japan is a place crammed with stuff and good things that nearly always come in small packages. This includes eating-holes.** Kura is a real little Japanese hole in the wall turning out the best don, teppanyaki and sashimi in China (we should call it Asia) Town. The staff always give you afriendly greeting (at least we hope they’re saying friendly things). Sadly one or two people have already figured this out and you may have to take a lottery ticket and wait for you lucky number to come up before being assigned a teeny table for two. But it’s well worth it. This place is authentic and tasty, like SAMURAI PIZZA CATS, Hello Kitty or Tamagotchi, i.e., totally freaking awesome.
