Mexican Lunch
published on 23rd September, 2008

Sharing the 60x300cm space behind a counter full of beans, mince, salsa and corn chips are two dark-haired, Mexican goddesses. These are the ladies who will save you from the Great Depression – the sadness experienced every time you hand over 20 bucks for a mystery sandwich and a bottle of water…and only get coins for change.**The lighting in the Imperial Arcade doesn’t compare to that in the Myer food court and your personal space does decrease by 50 percent  – but their aluminium tray of nachos can easily be transported across to Hyde Park. These are built of  corn chips topped with cheese (that is actually melted), your choice of meat or beans, lettuce and tomato. A decent amount of sour cream and chilli comes at no extra charge, and for $1.50 you can pick up some dessert. Mmm… sugar crustos.
