Petty Cash

We love a reader tip. Especially when it gets us off Main Street onto Vibe Street like Veronica’s (hi!) Petty Cash tip-off did. This archetypal neighbourhood cafe trades in the traffic of more frequented cafe locales for a leafy vista and a mighty relaxed tone.

While the menu is fairly typical (a tight run from breakfast through salads to steak sandwiches), it’s all executed very well, and, most importantly, the coffee is above average.**Most of the joy, though, comes from Petty Cash’s location – the cafe sits right on Enmore Park. Not only is it pleasant to look at, but picnic rugs are on offer should you be more inclined to sit in the park than amongst the retro suave of the furnishings. The friendly staff will bring everything over to you.

For those that tend to brave the churn of Enmore Road or King Street for a weekend fix, it’s probably worth making the detour down to Petty Cash on your next sunny Saturday.
